ONE DAY TRAINING COURSE ON PERFORMANCE EVALUATION OF ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT FOR IP REQUIREMENT

Introduction 

A variety of enclosures for switchgear, controlgear, rotating machines, luminaire and energy meters are used for indoor and outdoor applications.  They are subjected to varying climatic conditions.  With the increased emphasis on safety and protection of electrical installations, it has become mandatory that all electrical equipment enclosures should conform to the requirements of IP test in accordance with National and International Standards. 

ERDA is organizing a one day course on “Performance Evaluation of Electrical Equipment for IP requirement” on 7^th  October 2008 to impart knowledge of IP testing methods, interpretation of test results, standards, test equipments etc.  The course will lay stress on practical aspects through actual demonstration of tests. 

Course Content 

The course content covers : 

·          Degree of protection against ingress of solid objects and  dust
·          Degree of protection against ingress of water
·          UL/NEMA requirements for enclosure testing for export purpose 

Who will benefit 

Fresh Engineers and those with 2-3 years work experience engaged in testing, purchase, R&D etc., will find the course highly beneficial.

ERDA Members – Rs. 2000/- per person
Non Members    – Rs. 2500/-     “
Service tax – At prevailing rates. The present rate is 12.36%.
Participants have to make their own arrangements for accommodation and conveyance.
