TWO DAY TRAINING COURSE ON EVALUATION OF CABLES & ACCESSORIES
on 8-9 December 2008
Introduction
Polymer insulated cables play a very vital role in power distribution. Generally, PVC insulated cables are used for low voltage applications, XLPE is used for both low and high voltage applications. Similarly elastomeric cables are used mainly by railways where high flexibility is required. Apart from this there are Flame Retardant Low Smoke [FRLS] cables, which are specially used for flame retardance purpose. In India, all these types of cables are manufactured. Hence, evaluation of these cables as per different standards become important.
The course consists of lectures on:
· Manufacturing Techniques
· Evaluation & Testing of cables
