SAFETY AND PERFORMANCE EVALUATION OF LAMPS AND LUMINAIRE
on 9th  - 10th  September 2008

Introduction 

Lamps and luminaires play a very important role in our daily life.  It is essential to ascertain safety, quality and reliability of the lamps and luminaires.  The purpose of lamps and luminaires testing from the customers’ viewpoint is to demonstrate that the apparatus has met the guaranteed specification. From the manufacturers stand point, the tests provide a check on the design, strength of materials and a guide to the development of better equipment. 

ERDA is organising a two-day course to impart knowledge of lamps and luminaires testing, method of tests interpretation of test results, standards, test equipment calibration etc. 

Course content 

The course content consists of: 

·         Testing GLS lamps as per new standards (IS:418-2004 & ISL 15518-2004). tubular fluorescent lamps, HPSV, HPMV & Compact fluorescent lamps      

·          Electronic and conventional ballast

·          Testing of starter for fluorescent lamps

·          Testing of luminaires

·          Manufacturing of lamps

Fresh Engineers and those with 2-3 years work experience engaged in testing, purchase, R&D etc., will find the course highly beneficial.

Course Fees 

ERDA Members – Rs. 3500/- per person
Non Members     – Rs. 4000/- per person
Service tax – At prevailing rates. The present rate is 12.36%.

Participants have to make their own arrangements for accommodation and conveyance.

Nominations can be made by sending duly filled in registration form provided and enclosing a Demand Draft for appropriate amount favouring “Electrical Research & Development Association” payable at Vadodara.
