TWO DAY COURSE ON DESIGN ASPECTS AND PERFORMANCE EVALUATION OF MOTORS & PUMPS ON 24th – 25th September 2008

Introduction       

Induction motors are workhorses of the industry.  The performance of the motors and pumps depend on their design, workmanship and quality of raw materials used. The purpose of testing motors and pumps from the customer's viewpoint is to demonstrate that the apparatus has met the guaranteed specifications. From the manufacturers stand point, the tests provide a check on the design, strength of materials and guide to the development of better equipment. 

ERDA is organising a two-day course on “Design Aspects and Performance Evaluation of Motors & Pumps ” on 24th – 25th September 2008 to impart knowledge of design aspects, motor and pump testing, methods of tests, interpretation of test results, standards, test equipment calibration etc.  The course will lay stress on practical aspects through actual demonstration of the tests. 

Course Content 

The course consists of : 

*           Standardisation of various products

*           Testing Techniques for induction motors,   Increased safety motors

*           Testing Techniques for submersible, monoblock pumps, jet pump sets, self priming pumps and foot valves

*           Design aspects of motors & pumps and their selection

Fresh engineers and those with 1-2 years of work experience engaged in testing, purchase, R&D etc., will find the course highly beneficial.  Similarly, mechanical and electromechanical product manufacturing organizations will also find the course useful.

ERDA Members – Rs. 3500/- per person
Non Members     – Rs. 4000/- per person
Service tax – At prevailing rates. The present rate is 12.36%. 

Participants have to make their own arrangements for accommodation and conveyance.
