ONE DAY TRAINING COURSE ON PERFORMANCE EVALUATION OF LT SWITCHGEAR & TRANSFORMERS UNDER SHORT CIRCUIT CONDITION  6th  October 2008

Introduction 

Low Voltage Switchgear plays a very important role in protection and distribution system of down stream power supply.  It is essential to ascertain safety, quality and reliability of the LT Switchgear.  The purpose of LT Switchgear testing from the customer’s viewpoint is to demonstrate that the apparatus has met the guaranteed specifications.  From the manufacturers stand point; the tests provide a check on the design, strength of materials and guide to the development of better products. 

ERDA is organizing a one day course on “Performance Evaluation of LT Switchgear & Transformers under Short Circuit Condition” on 6th October 2008 to impart knowledge of LT Switchgear testing methods, interpretation of test results, standards, test equipment calibration etc.  The course will lay stress on practical aspects through actual demonstration of tests. 

Course Content 

The course content consists of :

·          Short Circuit testing MCBs, MCCBs, HRC fuses, contactors, starters, RCCBs, Panels, transformers as per relevant standards

·          Arch flash hazard calculation as per IEEE guide

Fresh Engineers and those with 2-3 years work experience engaged in testing, purchase, R&D etc., will find the course highly beneficial.
