Switchgear Laboratory, Savli
Timely response of switchgear during abnormal conditions is critical to protecting electrical networks and connected equipment. To ensure safety, reliability, and compliance, switchgear products must undergo rigorous performance evaluation. ERDA’s state-of-the-art Switchgear Laboratory at Savli is equipped with advanced facilities to test and evaluate a wide range of switchgear products in accordance with national and international standards.

- 3 Parallel computerized test bays for temperature rise test for 2 kA, 6 kA & 10 kA
- 1 no. IP Test Chamber of 5 ton, 1.6 meter x 2.4 meter x 2.3 meter for IP testing
- Computerized environmental test chamber with range of - 40°C to +180°C of size 500 mm x 300 mm x 600 mm
- Facility for Distribution Switchboards with 16 outgoing feeders
- Facility backed by 120kA Short Circuit laboratory and 1600kVpeak Impulse Test & 700kVrms High Voltage Laboratory
