B. Technical Workshops
During this quarter, ERDA organized workshops of one and two day’s duration. These workshops consisted of presentations covering a wide range of topics, along with practical demonstrations and visits to laboratories. Participants from DISCOMs, TRANSCOs, Government Utilities, and private organizations attended the workshops. The details of the workshops conducted are as below.
i) Workshop on “Design Aspects and Performance Evaluation of Motors & Pumps”, held on 11th and 12th July 2024.
ii) One Day Workshop on “Industrial Energy Management Techniques / Energy Audits”, held on 6th September 2024.
iii) Two-Day Workshop on “Condition Monitoring & Health Assessment of Power Transformers – Diagnostics”, held on 12th and 13th September 2024.
C. Expert Talk
i) An expert talk was delivered by Mr. Asheesh Dhaneria, Head of TM5 New Product Development section of R & D Department, on topic “A Methodology to Monitor Hot Spot Temperature of Distribution Transformer” at Seminar on Best Practices for O&M of Distribution Transformer & Code of Practice for the repair of Distribution Transformers organized by ITMA at Jaipur and Aurangabad.
ii) Underground Cable Workshop was held from 3rd to 4th September 2024 at the NESCO Exhibition Center in Goregaon, Mumbai. Dr. Nitin Shingne delivered a talk on “Root Cause Analysis of Failed Cables – ERDA’s Experience,” while Mr. Umesh Soni presented on the topic “Diagnostic Testing of Cables.”
D. Students’ Visit
At ERDA, our passion for knowledge-sharing knows no bounds. We constantly strive to disseminate knowledge in every way imaginable. As part of this, we arrange industrial visits for engineering students, enabling them to explore a world of practical knowledge. These visits offer a remarkable opportunity for students to embark on a captivating journey through diverse laboratories, where they can acquire invaluable hands-on experience.
During this quarter, we welcomed students from the following engineering colleges.
