i) Middle East Energy, Dubai, 2 – 4 April 2025
ERDA participated in Middle East Energy Exhibition 2025 at Dubai, engaging with leading certification agencies and global stakeholders to strengthen collaborations and explore new opportunities. Discussions were held with various international agencies, including those from Abu Dhabi, Turkey, and Dubai, covering areas such as short circuit testing, busway testing, and joint inspection possibilities.
Key insights included the growing demand for short circuit testing services, opportunities for joint inspections in the Middle East, and the importance of competitive pricing and quality service to retain and expand business in panel testing.
ii) CIGRE NRCC Symposium 2025, Norway, 12-16 May 2025
Mr. Umesh Soni, a leading expert in high-voltage equipment diagnostic and condition monitoring, has presented his research paper, “Online Noiseless Acoustic Discharge Detection in Insulation Of HV Equipment”, at the prestigious CIGRE NRCC Symposium 2025. The conference, organized by CIGRE, was held from May 12th to 16th, 2025, in Trondheim, Norway.
Mr. Soni’s paper introduces a novel method for the online detection of partial discharges in the insulation of high-voltage (HV) equipment. His work focuses on developing a system that can accurately identify acoustic signals indicating insulation degradation while filtering out background noise. This method application promises to enhance the reliability and safety of electrical grids by enabling predictive maintenance and preventing catastrophic failures.
iii) Two day conference by SPE(I) Vadodara Chapter, 30-31 May 2025
SPE (I) Vadodara Chapter in association with ERDA organised a two day conference on “Low Voltage & Medium Voltage Distribution Systems – Practices, Experiences, and the Way Forward”, on 30–31 May 2025 at the Federation of Gujarat Industries.
During the conference, ERDA experts Mr. Y.I. Pathan and Mr. Munaf Patel presented technical papers on the following topics:
- Certification Testing of Switchgear Products – ERDA’s Experience
- Low Voltage Power Switchgear and Control gear Assemblies as per IEC 61439 Series
- Comprehensive Details on EEQCO (Electrical Equipment Quality Control)
ERDA’s participation reinforced its commitment to advancing industry practices, sharing technical expertise, and contributing to knowledge exchange in the power sector
